London Luton Airport (LLA) has hosted Aviation Minister, Baroness Vere during Women of Aviation Worldwide Week.
 
During her tour of the airport, the Minister was introduced to frontline female staff members from LLA’s guest experience, security, air traffic control and airside operations teams.

Baroness Vere was accompanied by LLA’s senior management team, providing an opportunity to discuss the airport’s importance to the local community and regional economy, its plans for future sustainable growth and the work being carried out to offer an enhanced passenger experience. 

The Minister’s visit also included a ride on the DART (Direct Air-Rail Transit) ahead of its first passenger services.

The DART will transform London Luton Airport’s rail connectivity, reducing journey times between the airport and more than 60 stations across the Thameslink and East Midlands Rail networks, including 22 stations in Greater London. The journey from Central London to the LLA terminal will now take around 30 minutes via East Midlands Railway’s twice-hourly, express service from St Pancras.
