London Luton Airport (LLA) has been voted as the standout European airport for food and beverage choice at the 2024 Food & Beverage (FAB) Awards held in Ontario, California. 

The award was presented to LLA in recognition of its investment, ambition, quality, service, transformation and performance across an extensive range of dining options. 

The Airport Food & Beverage Awards recognises overall excellence and standout food and beverage offerings worldwide, including service standards and commercial success.

Mark Jennings, Head of Retail at London Luton Airport, commented: “We’re delighted to win this prestigious award which is testament to our continued focus on delivering even greater choice to passengers. The FAB Award Judging Panel commented: “Our regional winner from Europe represents an airport that continues to undergo a major journey in terms of its dining offer and proposition – with an array of brands adapted well to the audience and environment, and there’s a lot more to come yet.”

Passengers flying from LLA can now choose from an expansive choice of almost 40 bars, restaurants, cafes and ‘grab and go’ outlets, tailored to suit every taste and budget including sushi specialist Yo!, Chopstix, Italian diner Nolito, Mexican fast food chain Benito’s and the most recent opening, Indian street-food specialist, Chaiiwala.

Work is also progressing on the £8 million development of a new, flagship two-storey restaurant that will feature a striking mezzanine floor overlooking the LLA departure lounge, accommodating up to 500 diners.

With a maximum score of 100 and a five-star rating, LLA has been ranked as a sector leader for two consecutive years in the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) benchmark of sustainability governance management and performance of major infrastructure assets worldwide.
